Hi! I'm Nick. I'm a 3D artist who primarily specializes in technical animation, although I have experience across the entire 3D asset production pipeline. My day-to-day professional responsibilities include asset rigging, working with dynamics systems (both in engine and in DCC software like Maya), and rigging/animation tool development in the Maya environment using Python (which includes constructing Qt-based GUIs for said tools).
Starting with Blender back in 2013, I have been working with 3D software for about 10 years now, so working in 3D is second nature for me at this point. I have a particular passion for creating systems that drive digital characters and creatures. Whether that be a rig or some kind of procedural game engine setup or whatever, I love to create the illusion of life in digital space. Stemming from a childhood fascination with animals and an appreciation for computer programming, defining the parameters of digital life is what drives me.
